Palpitations is an immersive installation born from the collaboration of painter Marianela de la Hoz and Grammy Award-winning sound artist Marc Urselli. Departing from her signature miniatures, de la Hoz paints speaker cones in acrylics and mixed media, each emitting Urselli’s soundscapes composed directly in response to her imagery. The works, centered on the beating heart as a life force, explore birth, death, war, and hope—fragility met with resilience. Together, sound and image vibrate with energy, breathing life into this visceral meditation on human experience.
