Alessandra Moctezuma is a distinguished visual artist, educator, curator, and arts leader rooted in Southern California’s cultural landscape. As Gallery Director and Professor of Fine Art and Museum Studies at San Diego Mesa College, Moctezuma has shaped opportunities for artists of diverse backgrounds while advancing dialogue around Chicano art, cultural identity, and community engagement.
With a career spanning decades, she has curated significant exhibitions—including Twenty Women Artists: NOW at the Oceanside Museum of Art—and has served on numerous arts advisory boards and public art commissions that support vibrant creative ecosystems in San Diego.
